It is with bittersweet emotions that we bid farewell to our dance teacher extraordinaire, Maya Juka, who this month stepped down from her position as Dance and Music Coordinator.

Maya joined Mladi Hrvati in 2014 and officially took over the role as coordinator of dance and music in 2018. We are all so proud of what Mladi Hrvati has been able to achieve under Maya's guidance. It is a huge commitment that takes passion and heart and let's not forget patience when teaching our youngest little Croats! Maya has put in place a healthy repertoire of dances for Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors and nurtured and trained our wonderful new teaching team. This paves the way for a future dance teacher to slide into the role with ease and confidence knowing that the structure and dances are in place.

Beyond the dance floor, we also recognise and appreciate Maya's contribution to events and fundraising, in particular initiating annual youth and family mass, the beautiful and highly anticipated Nativity play, and taking the lead in selling the infamous MH calendars to raise funds for the Croatia Tour in 2019. Maya also kept our groups connected during covid lockdowns by running online lessons and other fun activities to keep our MH kids engaged and connected.

Thank you Maya for your tireless energy and effort and invaluable contribution to Mladi Hrvati. Now it's time for you to relax! Enjoy MH from the lense of 'just' a parent and be proud of all you've achieved and the good times we have shared. We will definitely miss you!
